Subverting the War

This article in The Guardian highlights the horrific ways in which people in power detach themselves from humanity. I think that the words are so powerful to create a stir in peoples psyche, especially those who are intimately aware of the horrors of things such as war in foreign countries.
We all see images of horrific things in the news and our human care and compassion is felt when we process the sorts of things that happen. To an extent, those who are directly involved on battlefields and such probably REQUIRE a degree of stoicism to confront horrible human suffering, but the use of such terms and lack of humanity by those who utter them nonetheless resonates a dark, evil tone.
Placing these messages and other 'taglines' amongst imagery may be a way to completely change yet enhance the context in which we see such things. Barber Kruger's style of works with clever punchlines successfully does this, so resonating with her home style is a good place to start.
With an Image taken from a Guardian article which has since been removed, I have emulated kruger's style and more importantly her well renowned "Your Gaze Hits The Side Of My Face" piece as a way of propelling my message of creating impact about awareness about the devastating innocent casualties that occur from drone strikes. It turns this tragic images into a kind of pop art -esque, iconic image which could represent the drone striking initiative in it's entirety.
