So the three summer months between this years outdoor WSA art exhibitions along Mercia Walk have passed, and we hope for fantastic weather on the 7th and 14th of September.

June was such a success and it felt great to be part of it for the first time - I didn't sell any items on the day, although I did the following day through my website. My first attempt did not work out quite the way I expected. The glazing dampened the quality of the clouds, and produced a bumpy, bubbly surface. I hope to complete a final attempt ready before the exhibition on Saturday
Before glazing, I was pleased with the dramatic effect created through the use fine white light reflection and darker, greyish shadowing. Using ceramic paints are quite powdery and horrible to work with, but luckily they are very forgiving because you are able to erase them once dry (and they dry very quickly) and you can also work over them too. I had to go over some darker areas with the white paint which turned out to be in vein because they do not show very well post-glazing. Hopefully I can make my final piece appear bright and clear however my primary concern is not dropping it while putting it on display in exhibition!
